* About the Campaign
Created so supporters unable to attend our September 19th event could still participate, this online drive keeps our $20,000 Fogo Relief Campaign open to all. As part of our annual Giving It Up For Lent initiative, we shifted our focus to directly assist families impacted by the tragedy in Fogo. We have partnered with Padre Flávio of S. Lourenço to guarantee that proceeds go straight to those affected.
** First Disbursement Sent ($10,000)
On September 30, 2026, we transferred an initial $10,000 to the S. Lourenço account under the care of Padre Flávio, who is overseeing direct distribution to the affected families.
To ensure fair and equitable aid, this initial $10,000 will be distributed equally according to the number of victims in each household. Based on official records verified by the Fogo Mayor's Office and hospital data, the accident impacted 29 families and 38 victims.
Our Next Goal: Reaching $20,000
We are keeping the campaign open through December 31, 2026, to reach our ultimate fundraising target of $20,000.
With our initial $10,000 transfer already sent, all additional funds raised will be directed to the families facing the greatest financial hardship. Having personally visited every single affected household, Padre Flávio has a firsthand understanding of each family's situation and will oversee the allocation of funds to ensure aid reaches those who need it most.
